The history of Drass runs parallel to man's passion for ocean exploration. Founded in 1927 in Livorno (Italy) Drass’ unique history boasts numerous successes that have kept it at the forefront of diving technology production. In fact, it was Drass who created some of the most influential maritime inventions of the 20th century, from the first submarines to the atmospheric diving suits that revolutionized the exploration of the deep sea in the 1920s and 1930s. After the war, Drass gained more and more visibility for its diving helmets and hyperbaric equipment. In the following years, Drass continued to innovate with its systems, helium-saturated deep diving bells, abyssal simulators but above all compact submarines for military use; a concentration of technology unique in the world. Today, Drass, in addition to offering a range of totally renewed traditional vehicles, continues to produce the most advanced vehicles for elite navies around the world, such as the Drass DRV (Deep Rescue Vehicle) currently supplied to the Navy Italian, patented by Drass in 2017 in collaboration with SAIPEM, a leading Italian company in the infrastructure sector. It is in fact a truly revolutionary vehicle, the first in the world capable of operating remotely to rescue submarine crews stuck at great depths. The Drass Periscope model was therefore born from Drass' requests, created as a watch supplied to its professionals, and not distributed on the market. The watch is bold in appearance, robust in touch, dynamic in function and rich in heritage. The steel of the case is treated with a Black IP (Ion Plating) coating, a chemical process capable of obtaining a long-lasting color that is resistant to impacts and corrosion. The Periscope is also equipped with an automatic helium escape valve that allows it to reach depths of 500 meters and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment to improve readability and protect the dial. To celebrate this supply, Squale, in mutual agreement with Drass, has decided to market a model, called Squale Periscope. The model in question has a difference compared to the one supplied to Drass, namely the dial: to underline the synergy between the two companies, it was decided to propose both the Squale logo and the Drass logo. All the features of the watch are the same as the Drass Periscope supplied to Drass, making this watch available not only to professionals, but to all enthusiasts of the submarine and military world.
