SQUALE
2001 HERITAGE
The Squale 2001 collection represents a milestone in the history of dive watches. It was born in the pioneering era of the 1960s, when new technologies transformed simple timepieces into reliable tools for professionals of the sea. This collection introduced significant innovations. The Squale 2001, with its iconicccase featuring hidden lugs, wascthe first watch to incorporate thec"push to release" technology, callowing the bezel to be locked after setting the dive times. With its extraordinary resistance to 100 atmospheres, it became a symbol of dive watchmaking and paved the way for iconic collections like the Squale 2002 and 2003. On the occasion of our brand's 65th Anniversary, we reflect on the events and individuals who contributed to making Squale an icon in the world of dive watches, both in the past and today. The Squale 2001, for example, was chosen by the legendary explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau as a gift for Michel Laval, the first officer of the Calypso, at the start of the 1972 Antarctic expedition.
SQUALE
HERITAGE FIFTY-NINE
Only 100 pieces and in world exclusive on OrologiSWP
Based on the Sub39, a special model has been created by OrologiSwp for true lovers of the Squale brand.
But why the name 'Heritage Fifty Nine'? This is the name I gave to identify the year in which the Subinomodel was supposedly produced and, above all, because I wanted to dedicate this Heritage to the year in which Squale was born, which was the 1959. The accomplices for the creation of this model are part of an enthusiast group of "WATCH COLLECTORS", who immediately joined the idea and who were super excited to have this exclusive model on their wrists. Obviously, they are not the only ones to have this good fortune because we are extending the opportunity to all fans of this magnificent brand.
SQUALE 1521 COLLECTION
The “1521” is the iconic Squale collection and takes its name from the original production reference that Von Buren gave to the case in the 1960s and which, even today, has remained faithful to the original. Designed and created by Charles Von Büren in the period in which the diving watch about to born, with its 50 atmospheres of pressure resistance, it guarantees peace of mind to all underwater explorations lovers, up to a depth of 500 meters below sea level.

SQUALE MATIC COLLECTION
The Matic is the most sought after collection for underwater explorations lovers. It does not stop at the functionality of the product alone, but is made with cutting-edge production techniques to satisfy even the requests of the most demanding sea lovers. Starting from the iconic Squale case, thanks to the introduction of some structural modifications, it was possible to create an even more performing watch, which let you reach a depth of 600 meters below sea level. To achieve resistance up to 60 atmospheres, the watch is equipped with a 16 mm domed sapphire crystal which allows the pressure inside to be better distributed and therefore greater depths can be reached. Despite the curvature, readability is always perfect from any position you look at, thanks to the anti-reflective coating treatment. The bezel is the distinguishing element of the Matic collection. Starting from a raw steel base, it is initially worked to obtain the exact dimensions of the case and subsequently undergoes a lacquering process. At a later stage the indicators are installed and finally it is covered with a paint that gives it resistance and absence of thickness to the touch.
SQUALE 2002 COLLECTION
The 2002 is the Squale professional diving watch par excellence, capable of guaranteeing water resistance up to 1000 meters deep. Over the years, the historic case has evolved but has never changed and is still the most appreciated by sea lovers looking for increasingly technical products.
From the 1970s, during which Jacques Mayol and Enzo Maiorca set world records with the first 2002 models on their wrists, to 2016, when Squale became the official supplier of the Italian State Police Diving Unit, the history of the 2002 watch has always been characterized by important collaborations with various professionals and sports professionals, during their underwater adventures.
The case from the 2002 collection is equipped with a helium valve, a feature that cannot be found in the models of the same collection made in the 1970s. This technical improvement was implemented to give greater safety to professional divers who make the watch a real work tool.

SQUALE SUB-39 COLLECTION
Each watch in the Sub-39 collection is different from the others because they are all inspired by models created in the past. The element that link them all is the case which has a diameter of 39 millimeters which becomes 40.3 millimeters if we consider the bezel protruding on the sides. All the other characteristics, however, are different from one model to another, starting from the manufacturing technique of the dial up to the material of the bezel.
The structure of the case was designed for the use of a particular glass, neither flat nor domed but box shaped. The structure of this glass is flat at the base, where it is recessed, and then continues with a slight curvature until it stops and becomes flat again for the entire surface of the dial. This structure, typically used in the past on plexiglass, is reproduced here faithful to the original. The only difference compared to the past is the material with which it is made, namely sapphire, highly more resistant than plexiglass.
The case of the “Sub-39” collection is inspired by the prototype of an old Squale, found in the archives of Charles Von Büren, made in the 1960s but produced. This watch, still in perfect working order, has the typical dimensions of the time: in fact, the diameter is 34 millimetres. Even today the case of the Sub-39 collection has maintained the same characteristics of the original watch, but with different dimensions.
SUPER-SQUALE COLLECTION
The Super Squale model was born in the 1960s, immediately becoming one of the most popular Squale brand watches.
It is no coincidence that in 1959, Charles Von Büren also registered the Super-Squale "trademark" together with the "Squale" brand itself, symbol of a watch destined to become iconic in the world of underwater watchmaking.
The Super Squale model was born as a real skin diver: with water resistance of 200 meters, 38 mm case diameter and only 45 mm in length, the Super Squale was designed to be as compact as possible during diving, with or without a wetsuit.
The new Super Squale models do not limit themselves to paying homage to the past: the versions characterized by faithful designs to the originals of the time, are flanked by totally new models, with a modern feel but always maintaining the necessary characteristics for diving.
SQUALE 1545 COLLECTION
The 1545 collection is designed for all those who love water sports in all their facets: a versatile watch, suitable to follow you at every moment of an intense day in contact with water. With pressure resistance up to 30 atmospheres (300 meters deep) it is a technical and elegant watch at the same time; the perfect companion for every underwater adventure.
Born in the 70s, the 1545 collection was produced on request for numerous other brands when Squale was one of the first manufacturers of "water resistant" speakers in the world. As the years passed, the “Y1545” case (production serial number of the case – from which the collection takes its name) was made in different sizes and with different finishes, but without ever losing the style that distinguishes it and which has remained unchanged to this day.
The new models of the 1545 collection immediately excite you: the dials, also inspired by old 70s models, have been revisited in a modern key, characterized by intense colors and finishes, with attention to the smallest details.
SQUALE T-183 COLLECTION
Since its introduction in 2019, the T-183 collection has been synonymous with the future and the pursuit of innovation. From its first edition made of layers of glass fiber and carbon, up to the introduction of the current model with dial and bezel in Forged Carbon, the models of the t-183 collection, available in three colors, are the symbol of avant-garde and pioneering spirit that distinguishes Squale.
Forged carbon is a type of carbon fiber with high resistance and lightness properties. The name "forged" derives from its manufacturing process: small fragments of carbon fiber are placed in molds at the same time as some resins, to then be compressed and "forged" at high temperatures. The veining effect that is created is an element of uniqueness due precisely to this process: the carbon flakes, in fact, are positioned randomly, creating unique and unrepeatable patterns for each portion of the product.
Starting from a single block of forged carbon, cubes are created from which each individual case will be born. Through processing with high precision machinery (CNC), each individual case is machined from solid, removing material until its final shape is obtained.
SQUALE X DRASS UNDERWATER TECHNOLOGIES
Squale, in mutual agreement with Drass, has decided to market a model, called Squale Periscope. The model in question has a difference compared to the one supplied to Drass, namely the dial: to underline the synergy between the two companies, it was decided to propose both the Squale logo and the Drass logo.
All the features of the watch are the same as the Drass Periscope supplied to Drass, making this watch available not only to professionals, but to all enthusiasts of the submarine and military world.
