The link with the Italian Navy dates back to the 1980s when Squale won the contract for the supply of watches for the Scuba Diving Group of La Spezia twice. For that occasion, special Squale watches were designed and manufactured according to the specific requests of the Navy itself. 40 years after the historic collaboration, the Navy and Squale decided to renew this professional partnership, creating a watch in a limited edition of only 300 pieces. , conceived in close collaboration with the military corps following their specific requests. For this important edition, it was decided to revive the historic Squale “Master” case. This model was one of the first speakers made by Charles Von Büren in the 1960s. The Squale Master, year after year, has established itself in the world of enthusiasts as famous freedivers such as Enzo Maiorca and Jacques Mayol chose him as their companion during their underwater exploits. In fact, the technical characteristics were able to guarantee water resistance up to 1000 meters deep. With the aim of creating an even more performing product for the renewed collaboration with the Navy, the Master case has undergone some technical changes (such as the introduction of the helium valve and the addition of a 4 mm thick sapphire crystal). able to allow it to withstand up to 1200 meters deep. The water resistance tests of the cases were carried out by the company Drass Galeazzi (world leader in the production of submarines) in its laboratories and gave a positive result certifying the resistance up to 120 atmospheres.All the characteristics of the watch have been designed to create a product with very high performance, able to satisfy the needs of special bodies. The dial was made with the "sandwich" technique, which allows you to concentrate a greater amount of SuperLuminova BWG9 in the large indexes. The "bund" bezel is another peculiarity of the Squale Master X Marina Militare. Without tachymeter scale - but with only one triangle in SuperLuminova. Intended exclusively for underwater military use, it was born with the need to keep the hours spent in very long dives under control and not the minutes as in traditional lunettes. The back bears the coat of arms of the Italian Navy, depicting the four Maritime Republics.
